Treat yourself to a day of creative music-making at this Music for People satellite workshop. Join us for playful and inspiring workshops with an approach toimprovisation that is inviting and artistically rich for musicians from diverse backgrounds. Whether you are a professional musician, teacher, student, or amateur, you will have a chance to recharge and refresh your own musical spirit while stepping into a community that honors deep listening and connection. Elective topics will include movement, drumming, voice, facilitation, and chamber music.
Facilitators include Mary Knysh, Alina Plourde, Jimbo Talbot, Jessica King, and Laura Enslin. All instruments, including voice, are welcome and will work well for improvising. There will be pianos, percussion and other instruments available to share as well.
Lunch will be available for purchase at the on-campus Gordon Student Center (minimal options are offered on Saturdays, so you may prefer to pack a lunch).
For out-of-town participants, we recommend the following Syracuse hotels as being conveniently located about a 15-minute drive from the OCC campus: The Genesee Grande Hotel, the Parkview Hotel, or the Crowne Plaza.
Questions? Please email Alina Plourde: email@example.com
