Art of Improvisation 2020

Music for People offered its signature summer workshop online in 2020 – August 2nd through August 5th. A place to learn about music improvisation, make music with others and help you bring improvisation into your classroom, your own music and your community music groups. For musicians and vocalists experienced in any musical tradition – classical, jazz, theater, rock, ethnic, avant-garde, etc.  For all instruments – acoustic and electric, winds and strings, hand drums and percussion, and homemade innovations. Prior experience in improvisation is not necessary, as this workshop is based on the concept that listening and imitation are the most fundamental musical skills. Videos of the taped sessions will be made available to all participants.

BUT if you missed the workshop, you can still purchase recordings of all the daytime sessions which were recorded via Zoom as videos. Those videos are being processed and will be available for your personal use by August 14th, 2020 and will remain available until December 31, 2020. These recordings will be available for purchase until August 21st, 2020.
