Concordia Workshop
Join Irene Feher and special guest Mary Knysh for Live Your Music in Montréal. This two-day Music for People improvisation workshop is for musicians and vocalists experienced in any musical tradition (classical, jazz, theater, rock, folk, avant-garde, etc.) All instruments are welcome – acoustic and electric, winds and strings, hand drums and percussion, and homemade innovations. All levels of experience are welcome.

In an energetic, humorous and open-minded environment, you will discover how invigorating, inspiring, and surprisingly natural it can be to create music in the moment.

We are fundamentally about YOUR music, and supporting YOU in your musical explorations. We offer a hands-on improvisational music making experience using structures and tools designed to benefit you both personally and professionally. No prior experience in improvisation is necessary, as this workshop is based on the concept that listening and intuition are the most fundamental musical skills. In this approach where there are no “wrong notes,” we encourage a sense of wonder and curiosity. Our intention is to promote joyful, authentic and inclusive musical collaboration.

Saturday Dec 2nd from 10:00am – 5:30pm – Immerse yourself in musical play! Musicianship skills for improvisation are taught using Music for People forms in guided large and small ensembles.
