Stuart Fuchs is a multi-instrumentalist, music workshop facilitator, educator & creativity consultant based in Buffalo, NY. He plays everything he can get his hands on, but specializes in Ukulele, Guitar (all styles), Didjeridoo, and Percussion.

He began playing the guitar as a young boy when he would take his father’s guitar into the wilderness and try to imitate the sounds of the birds. Stuart studied the Classical Guitar at the University of Buffalo, where he was awarded the Gherhee Scholarship for musical performance.

Stuart is deeply committed to the practice of a more holistic & humanistic version of music education.  He believes that musical expression is the birthright of all people. ANYONE can lean to play. His friendly and playful nature allows his students to experience musical development as well as greater self-esteem.

He plays music throughout the Western New York region in a variety of contexts from Jazz and Classical, Reggae and Afro-Pop, to Multi-Media and Experimental settings.

In 2005, Stuart founded the award-winning Gypsy Jazz Band “Babik” (Bah-Beek), named for the son of the legendary jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt. In addition to performing at music festivals and with symphony orchestras, Babik’s has been featured on Public Radio International’s nationally syndicated program “The World”.

Stuart has led his “Awaken Your Inner Musician” workshops throughout North America and Costa Rica.  Stuart has been called a “Modern day Pied Piper”. He has a way of awakening the inner musician in people that borders on magical. Through humor and lighthearted approach to music, Stuart’s workshops create a non-judgemental environment where people of any background can easily enter into the joy of spontaneous music making and creative self-expression.  Stuart enjoys performing all styles, Classical, Jazz, Rock, Reggae, World/Ethnic and Experimental.
