Dr. Michael Brant DeMaria is a Grammy nominated recording artist, Native American Music Award winner, psychologist, author, and speaker with 25 years of experience in the work of guiding others on their life journeys. He has been the featured musician for renowned poets Robert Bly and David Whyte and performed with R. Carlos Nakai.
He has released several albums including The River and Earth as well as Grammy nominated Ocean, Siyotanka and Bindu. Ocean and Siyotanka both have reached #1 on the New Age/World/Ambient Charts and Ocean remained in the #1 spot for 3 months straight and recently received the ZMR awards for Best Meditation/Relaxation Album and Best Ambient Album of 2009.
A multi-instrumentalist (piano, keyboards, percussion, native flutes, didgeridoo and voice), he began using music for his own healing from trauma at the age of 7. A diplomat in expressive therapy he integrates nature and creativity (poetry, music, play and art) in his work in dynamic and engaging ways. He has presented workshops, guided wilderness retreats and performed his popular keynote concerts nationally and internationally.
Michael remains an Adjunct Professor at the University of West Florida, the Institute for Transpersonal Psychology and the Institute for Integrative Health. His personal growth books include Ever Flowing On: On being and becoming oneself, Horns and Halos: Towards the blessing of darkness and a collection of poetry, Moments. To celebrate his love of people and the journey of life he founded ONTOS, a center whose mission is to help others live more creative, meaningful and effective lives.
