Julie HarrisJulie Harris has been playing the Native American flute since 2003. In 2006 and 2007 and she was a finalist in the Musical Echoes Flute Competition in Fort Walton Beach Florida and in 2008, she was a First Place Winner in this prestigious gathering. In April of 2013, she was featured on the Pete Seeger/Jeff Haynes Audiobook, The Storm King, on a track entitled “Talking Leaves” where she plays Native American flutes and wrote the music for that track. She is co-founder and co-facilitator of the SongCatchers Flute Circle and co-facilitates the monthly circles. She is also co-facilitator of “Musical Playground” in Cornwall, New York. She performs with Master Drummer, Sculptor and Educator, Maxwell Kofi Donkor and Sankofa and is currently studying with world renowned percussionist, Jeff Haynes. Julie Harris is a certified IGM® Therapeutic Acupressure Practitioner, Karuna Reiki Master and an Ordained Minister of the Heart River Center for Intuitive Healing. She also practices and has a love for Tai Chi. MFP continues to help her achieve the goals of bringing joy and healing to the community through music.
