Location: Massachusetts/Northeast JoAnne Spies is a singer/songwriter from Chicago on the faculty of Community Access to the Arts in Great Barrington, MA. JoAnne was recently a Fellow at the Millay Colony and is on the Massachusetts Cultural Council Performing Roster. She has produced 2 CD's of original blues, jazz and country tunes: "2 x 3" with Jack Douglas and "Me & Melville". Her one-woman multi-media show 'Me & Melville' has been performed at Dixon Place in NYC, Herman Melville's home Arrowhead, and colleges and museums in the northeast. A graduate of the four-year Musicianship Leadership Program of Music for People and Elder Arts Initiative Training, JoAnne leads groups of all ages in music improvisation with a focus on storytelling, songwriting and rhythm.
